My Computer won’t start, how do I fix it?

My computer needed to be reformatted, so I took my SADA HDD’s (I have 2, C:/ and a D:/ drive) out of my computer to us a USB universal adapter to salvage some of the important files. I did put the drives back into my computer and I’m certain I put the ports into the right sockets. The problem is when I turn my power on, the computer turns on the fans for like half a second and does not turn on. I had a friend tell me that my patriots might have been re written to a different file format, and it might not be compatible with my computer at the moment. Does anyone know how to fix this? My computer was previously formatted to vista, and I was going to upgrade to windows 7 because I lost my vista disc was lost. I have a Rosewill Performance RP500-2 power supply with some sort of MSI motherboard. Any help would be appreciated, and I would be glad to provide more information about my computer if necessary.
test your power supply and another hard drive.
yep its knackered and you need a new one
Set it up on a football field goal block and try to kick into the goal if you make it, it will turn on, if not its ****** for life.
